2010 Rent Increases

Note: These rent increases do not change our
low income rental rates.

NEW RATES

TNHA increased the Fair Market Rental rents for the first time in many years.  This is important for the continued maintenance of the existing units as well as the capital to construct additional units.

Since we no longer receive subsidies from the NSB to keep rent costs down, all Fair Market renters will now pay the same amount per month.

1 Bedroom $900
2 Bedroom $1,200
3 Bedroom $1,400
4 Bedroom $1,590

As you can see, the majority of the rates are less than the HUD recommendations.

How New Rates Were Created

Every year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) determines the Fair Market Value of rentals by contacting renters and landlords in Barrow.

The HUD Fair Market Values are as follows for 2010:

1 Bedroom $983
2 Bedroom $1,292
3 Bedroom $1,545
4 Bedroom $1,590
